What is permanent makeup or micropigmentation?
Micropigmentation or permanent make-up (PMU) is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. With an ultra-thin needle and pigment, the shape of the eyebrows, eyes or lips is enhanced. Micropigmentation is also known as permanent make-up or cosmetic tattooing. It is sometimes wrongly confused with cosmetic tattoos (e.g. eyebrow tattoos or eyeliner tattoos). However, the pigments used for permanent make-up are introduced less deeply into the skin layer and have a different composition from tattoo inks. Micropigmentation devices are also more refined than tattoo machines, and the techniques that are used are different.
Permanent makeup also known as micro-pigmentation is revolutionary method of inserting small amounts of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin in order to enhance your desired features.

The process of permanent cosmetics has been used and endorsed for years by Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, and Dermatologists. They embrace these procedures as non-surgical “cures”.
How long does procedure take ?
Before procedure, Nancy will customize shape, shade your brows with a pencil, allowing you to agree on shape and color that fits best with your face. To keep discomfort to a minimum, anesthetic creams are used before and during the procedure. The entire process takes only 2 hours and there is no down time. A touch up is required once 2-3 months after initial procedure.
Pigment retention depends on skin type, age, aftercare, sun exposure, use of certain skin products, pigments used, immune system, medications and other factors. Touch ups are recommended once a 1-3 year to prevent natural fading. Depending on each individual.
Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.
How long does it last?
Depending on individual's skin, activities, lifestyle, health conditions, etc. Clients generally get refresher 1.5 - 3 years.
A majority of clients require 2 sessions to have their brows perfected.
The FIRST TOUCH UP is done 2-3 monthes after the first sessions to perfect the brows and add density.
How often are touchups / color refresher needed?
An annual touchup is highly recommended to maintain brow tattoos. It is ultimately up to the client to decide when it is time for a touch up. Oily skin types will tend to fade quicker that dry skin types.
Does it hurt? Will there numbing cream used during procedure?
We get mix reviews on pain. Topical anesthetic will be apply on treated area before starting. You may experience discomfort the first pass, but you will be numb again once the skin is open. You won't feel much after.
How long does it take to heal? Will I be able to go back to work?
Healing period is 1-10 days. As long as you're good at following aftercare instructions, there shouldn't be an issue going to work or being in public.
How long is the appointment?
About 2 hours with the most time spent going over colors and shapes.
Will you draw shapes first?
Yes, I will not start until shape and color is selected. Once you agree to the shape, we proceed with depositing pigment into skin.
Can I workout?
Avoid any exercise or activities which will produce any sweating for one week to 10 days.
Can I wear makeup after?
Not on the treated area for at least one week to 10 days, after healed. We recommend that you avoid foundation and concealer around brows and forehead.
Is the second appointment necessary?
I highly recommend it.
